STYLISH COUNTRY INTERIOR DESIGN

STYLISH COUNTRY INTERIOR DESIGN

Stylish country living in authentic Volendam, the Netherlands.

Currently we are working on the overall design of this beautiful home. The 3D visualizations give a good impression of the atmosphere and warmth of the future interior. Rural elements and materials combined with modern shapes create a contemporary living space.

MODERN LIVING

MODERN LIVING

This is one of our newest projects, a modern living space. The 3d images have recently been finished and we have one more happy client!

Check out the white cabinet wall, it contains a fireplace, a lot of storage, a place for the TV and a desk. It’s multifunctional and it also makes the living room very unique. Our client wanted a modern look, light coloring and a tiled floor. These materials are all very timeless, but not warm. To give the space some character we used a stucco counter for the kitchen. The same material will be used to finish the side boards of the kitchen cabinets and the ceiling above the kitchen. Which is also very different and makes the white ceiling above look higher. We connected the table and the kitchen to create more space for the corner sofa. Because making the best possible and functional layout is what we do.

MORE THAN JUST DESIGN

MORE THAN JUST DESIGN

These design visualizations have recently been made. They feature a preview of a beautiful family home in Volendam. We have a few more months to make final decisions in fabric and color choices. But by the time structural alterations of the home are finished all aspects of the design will be ready to implement. The kitchen and other custom made furniture are produced and delivered by us (Kwakman Interieur & P&B Interieurbouw). But also other furniture, flooring, lamps, the fireplace, bathroom furniture and many more aspects of the house will be supplied by our company. A perfect design can only become reality if every aspect matches the bigger picture. We can help you translate your desires into a complete design including product choises and materialization.

IMM COLOGNE 2016, INTERNATIONAL INTERIORS SHOW

IMM COLOGNE 2016, INTERNATIONAL INTERIORS SHOW

This weekend I visited the international furniture fair in cologne, Germany. It’s a great way to see the latest trends and to spot new brands and collections. The fair counts 11 halls, from which some have multiple levels so you can imagine how big it is. The famous Italian brands like Living Divani, Minotti and Baxter were all located in hall 11, which looked a lot like Salone del Mobile.  I spotted some great pieces for my clients, a massive tree trunk coffee table from a new Spanish brand and a great Calligaris chair from their new collection. You can wander on fairs like IMM for days, there really is something for everyone.

SALONE DEL MOBILE 2015

SALONE DEL MOBILE 2015

While planning my trip to Milan, we decided to make it a family weekend. My parents and boyfriend really wanted to come with me. I’m not sure whether they didn’t feel comfortable with me traveling alone or that they just wanted to see Milan. But the reason doesn’t really matter, we had the best time together and I wouldn’t have had such a great time alone!

It was raining the morning we arrived in Milan. Therefore we decided to go to Salone del Mobile 2015 instantly since we would be inside all day. I have never seen a fair on this scale, it was so big we could have walked around 3 full days. Unfortunately we only had time to visit one day but we sure made the best of it. There were stands in all kinds of styles, from classic to ultra modern. We mostly visited the design buildings because that’s the closest to my own style. Making good photos was kind of hard because of the crowds, but I did my best which you can see in this post. I gained a lot of amazing ideas and some great inspiration to use for my future projects and I really hope to be able to visit Milan more often. It just felt really good to be there, but I have that feeling in all Italian cities. The architecture, culture, the food and stores are always the best in Italy.

After our first day at the Salone we had two more days to see the city and of-course go shopping. The weather was perfect, sunny but not too warm so we walked all day and saw most of Milan’s city center. What a great way to combine business with pleasure!
